Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Mix flour,cocoa powder,cinnamon,baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

  • Mix sugar,applesauce,eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Gradually stir in flour mixture until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon 1/4 cup batter into each paper-lined muffin cup.

  • Bake for 15 minutes or until toothpick comes out with fudgy crumbs when inserted into the center of the cupcakes. Cool in the pan on the wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cupcakes from the pan,and cool completely on the wire rack.
